It all started several years ago when our hunting buddy Billy had a great year. Everything seemed to go his way when it came to whitetail deer. He would always be in the right tree at the right time. No matter what he tried, it always worked to his advantage. Joe and I used to kid him about having a horseshoe up his a$$.:) Joe said a regular horseshoe was not good enough for the kind of super luck Billy was having. "It must be a golden horseshoe!". He could do no wrong and that was as good an explanation for it as any. lol
The horseshoe thing is now refered to each year when one of our friends is having a great season. Most hunters get it once in a while, some more often than others.
Now Joe on the other hand has had a few seasons where nothing has worked out. He would be in the tree only to have the buck run a doe up the ridge behind him. While getting set for the shot a dog or something would come by and mess him up. I mean really what are the odds of being chased by a lama in North Carolina during turkey season. LOL His wife had to go out of town during the best week leaving him watching the kids while the deer were rutting. The perfect shot would turn into a bad tracking job .He had to work the week the rest of us were chasing pigs. It has just not been going well for him.
It seems that I somehow (according to Joe) wound up with the horseshoe for the last couple of years and have had good seasons because of it. I would like to think it is because I hunt hard and know what I am doing but Joe knows better. hehe
Now to get to the point.I don't know if you can give luck away but I am going to do my best to give Joe a little if possible. After all he is the person that got me started chasing those whitetails. We have had many "hunting adventures" together over the last 20 years, some great and those "other ones" too.. Since I can't get that horseshoe that he claims is lodged up my butt maybe I can give him a horseshoe of his own and hope it works. ;>) "Stick this up your butt Joe." LMAO ...James
