Bows I Have Made
This bow will be a Christmas present for my nephew, Ellis. I still have to finish the arrows, but here is the prototype. Ellis will be about 4 at Christmas, but is strong for his age. This  bow was made from Ipe wood. It is 45" n to n,  14LB  @ 18".   I used canvas to back it so my wife could draw the artwork. The arrow is a 1/4 dowel 22" long with a rubber eraser for a point.  After shooting the bow, it shot so well that I didn't think a metal tip was such a good idea. It will shoot this arrow over 90 yards!.

Nick's Bow
This bow was built for one of my other nephews. It was made from a hickory shovel handle. I ripped it in half smoothed out the back and tillered it. I used part of what was left over to glue on a handle. 56' n to n 20lb @ 22 (He only draws about 17"} But he wanted a longbow!

The Flight-Test
Nick is checking to see what kind of range this bow is capable of. His little sister and younger cousin are cheering him on.
